Biography
Kostas Filippidis was born in 1950 in Kerasovo, Konitsa, and comes from a family of musicians.
His father was a representative clarinetist of the region and it was he who made him love folk music. From the age of twelve he began to learn and play with his father at various events in his village (fairs, weddings, etc.).
Later in Athens he studied the music of other regions of Greece, uniquely rendering their rhythms and styles.
He collaborated for five years with the Doras Stratou folk dance theater and with many other dance groups.
He took part in concerts and folk music festivals in Greece and abroad.
He took part in radio and television broadcasts as well as in recordings of records from all over Greece.
