Biography

With more than forty years of active presence in the field of traditional and folk music, he has dedicated his life to the study, teaching and interpretation of Greek rhythms and traditional percussion instruments. For three decades he has been teaching at the Municipal Conservatory of Ioannina, while for thirteen years he has been a key collaborator of the Museum-School of Ioannina, contributing to the connection of musical education with the local cultural heritage. At the same time, he taught for five years at the School of Folk and Traditional Music of the University of Ioannina.

During his career, he had the honor of collaborating with leading representatives of Greek traditional music, as well as with important artists of the folk repertoire, both on stage and in discography. Teaching, for Tasos, is an integral part of the artistic practice — a living transmission of knowledge, experience and deep love for rhythm and tradition
