Singing – Eirini Tornesaki
Vocal Techniques for Greek Traditional Singing
This workshop focuses on developing vocal technique for all styles of Greek traditional singing. Participants will explore proper voice placement, breathing, the different vocal registers such as chest voice and head voice, resonance control, and practice methodologies tailored to the stylistic demands of each genre—from heroic epic songs (akritika) to amanedes.
Through practical exercises, participants will gain an understanding of the connection between the voice and the musical traditions of each region, maintaining both authenticity and expressiveness.
The workshop is intended for singers and musicians who wish to develop their vocal technique and deepen their interpretive approach to Greek traditional singing.
