This seminar offers a comprehensive overview of the fundamental aspects of the music industry, focusing on key issues such as copyrights, streaming, and music licensing. It also covers the essential principles of building and protecting a commercial brand (brand and trademark), as well as strategies for releasing albums through record labels or self-management. The seminar further examines the role of digital platforms, the creation of an artist biography (artist bio), and a professional Electronic Press Kit (EPK) for booking and promoting artistic projects. It is aimed at artists seeking sustainable growth in their careers.
Biography
The singer and educator Eirini Tornesaki, known artistically as “Eirini,” originally from Heraklion, Crete, blends Greek traditional music with jazz, pop, and classical influences. She has collaborated with artists such as Danilo Perez, Terri Lyne Carrington, Nella, Jorge Glem, Daniel Hope, and Ara Dinkjian, and has performed on two Grammy-nominated albums. She has appeared at Carnegie Hall and was selected for an Official Showcase at WOMEX 2023. She has also performed on China’s two largest television networks, Hunan TV and BRTV. Eirini has directed and presented three productions for the Greek Ministry of Culture and the Greek National Opera. She teaches voice, music ensembles, and music business at Berklee College of Music and has led workshops at universities such as Harvard and Princeton. She has been honored by New Music USA and received the “40 under 40” award from the Greek America Foundation, as well as the Traditional Arts Fellowship from the Massachusetts Cultural Council. She serves as a choir judge at the FDF and is a co-founder of the organization Avlés. Her album “Fos” was released in 2024.
